Nailsea ended up winners over Fry Colts by 2-1 to record their first victory of the season. The matched was well contest between two teams intent on playing good football and produced scoring opportunities for both sides. Sam Oakley fired wide for Nailsea after good link up play between James Lee and Ben Cook, while at the other end Sam Kirk was called on to make some smart saves. Matt Long scored Nailsea's first goal after he reacted sharply to slot the ball home as a free kick caused confusion in Fry's box. Nailsea made it two immediately after the interval as Lee played a neat one-two before tucking the ball home. Dan Pain got a goal back for Fry's when he latched onto a through ball and shot past the keeper. Fry's visibly lifted their game and Kirk, the Nailsea keeper had to make two magnificent saves to maintain the lead, and save a penalty five minutes from time to cap an outstanding goalkeeping display.
